About the School

Knowledge from God, and the work to match it.

We teach children from nursery through to senior secondary on three campuses across Benin City. Our motto is on the crest at every gate, and it is meant plainly: what a child learns here is a gift, and we expect them to carry it well.

Welcome to Unifac

A word from the school.

“We would rather a child left here able to think, and honest about what they do not yet know, than able to recite. The certificates matter and they are the floor, not the ceiling.”

Our Story

Three campuses, one school.

The name on the gate is a group rather than a single school: three campuses across Benin City, teaching the same syllabus to the same standard, so a family that moves house does not have to move schools. What holds them together is the line under the crest.

We teach on three campuses in Benin City: the head office at Oliha Quarters, a second campus at Evbuotubu Quarters by Aigbangbe Junction, and Ogbomwan Campus out at Ugbiyoko Quarters. All three follow the Nigerian national curriculum, from the pre-primary years through Primary 1 to 6, then JSS 1 to 3 for the Basic Education Certificate, and SSS 1 to 3 for the WASSCE and NECO examinations.

Beyond the syllabus there is the music studio, the art room and the field, and the run of inter-house competition and performance that fills out a school year. A child who spends every hour here at a desk is not getting the whole of it.

Our Promise

Three commitments, on our crest and in our classrooms.

The open book, the ladder and the cap are not decoration. They name what we set out to give every child who joins us.

Knowledge from God

Our motto is on the crest and in the timetable. We teach that learning is given rather than earned, and we expect that to show in how a child treats the people around them.

Every Child Climbs

The ladder on our crest rises from an open book, one rung at a time. We would rather a pupil master a rung than be hurried past it because the rest of the class has moved on.

Character First

Results matter, and they are not the whole of it. A child who leaves us should be honest, punctual and hard to discourage, whatever the certificates say.

Our Facilities

Where the learning happens.

Laboratories, a library, and rooms for music, art and sport, so a child's day is not spent only at a desk.

Science Laboratories

Practical work for the physics, chemistry and biology on the WASSCE and NECO syllabuses, so an experiment a pupil has only read about is one they have also run.

Computer Laboratory

Where pupils meet a keyboard properly, work through the computer studies syllabus, and sit the practical papers that now expect a screen.

Library

Reading for its own sake alongside reference shelves for coursework, and a quiet room for the SSS 3 pupils revising towards their certificates.

Music Studio

Singing, instruments and practice for the performances that punctuate the school year.

Art and Craft Studio

Drawing, painting and craft, with room for the messy work that a classroom desk cannot take.

Sports Facilities

Space to play, inter-house competition, and the ordinary business of running about between lessons.

Admissions Open

Come and see a campus.

We take enquiries for every stage, nursery through to SSS 3, on all three campuses. Tell us the year group and the campus you have in mind and we will tell you what is available.
